About Hadley
Hello! I’m a current university student working towards a double major in political science (emphasis in international relations) and economics. Overcoming challenges with learning is the story of my academic career, as I was struggling terribly in school before my eventual ADHD diagnosis. Being able to treat the disorder as well as developing the skills and strategies necessary to succeed academically has unlocked a perspective on education that I believe is truly unique. This process taught me effective and efficient learning strategies that are highly transferable, even to students without ADHD. I am currently maintaining a 4.0GPA, and have received extremely high recognition from my professors alongside two nominations for writing awards this past semester. I am comfortable working with students of all abilities, and have experience volunteering in a special needs classroom.

As a tutor, I firmly believe that an extremely individualized approach to learning will always yield more positive outcomes than a one-size-fits-all style. This means getting to learn and assess a student's individual needs, areas of talent, areas that would benefit from specific attention, and generally desired outcomes from tutoring. Some students struggle in English courses and need tutoring to get the grade they want, while others may already have success in English and want to develop more advanced skills in the subject. Some may have completely different and unique expectations. Additionally, some students need help with an already existing curriculum, and others may want to collaborate to build a completely new one. Regardless, I'm dedicated to working closely with students and possibly even their families to design a plan that best suits their needs. I am comfortable working with grades 6-12 in essay writing, and all grades in literature, literacy, grammar, and any other specific area of focus for English. I can work with any grade level in history, government / civics, and economics.
