About Cecilia

I am a very patient person with a passion for education. As a Liberal Arts and Secondary Education student at the University of Queensland, I am able to incorporate academic knowledge and practical experience into my teaching. Being from China, my cultural background and knowledge of the Chinese language allows me to teach effectively, such as helping students to practice Chinese pronunciation and dialogue. In addition, as English is my second language, I understand the challenges of learning a new language, and my experience can better assist students in learning Chinese. I also hope to foster an appreciation for Chinese culture.

I am able to support primary and secondary students at all levels, whether they are beginners or already have an understanding of Chinese. In the classroom we will work together to achieve language goals and build students' confidence in using Chinese in everyday life. I am confident that I can teach and support learning the language effectively. I look forward to helping you achieve your goals and build your confidence in Chinese!

About the lesson

I will create an engaging and supportive learning environment that meets the individual needs of the student. A variety of techniques and methods are used to help students learn, including interactive activities, practical exercises and real-life examples, to make the lessons more relevant and fun at the same time. I emphasise the importance of cultural context and hope that students will become more interested in Chinese culture while developing language skills.

Each lesson usually lasts about an hour, with plenty of time for explanation, practice and revision.

I am currently an undergraduate student studying for a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Secondary Education at the University of Queensland, and I am fluent in both English and Chinese. This educational background and my experience as a tutor have equipped me with the necessary skills to effectively teach and support students.

My programmes are designed for primary and secondary school students who wish to improve their Chinese language skills. Whether a student is a beginner or has some knowledge of the Chinese language, I tailor my courses to their specific level and learning progress to ensure they achieve their language goals.
