About Yena

To tell you a bit about myself, I am a medical student in the UK who just completed their 2nd year. I am someone who loves interacting with people and bringing positive changes, and for those reasons I spent many hours of my free time dedicated to volunteering and tutoring.

I grew up in boarding school in the UK since the age of 11, and during my middle school I took GCSEs in the following subjects- English language, English literature, Mathematics, Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), History, Latin, French and German, having received 11 9s (A**s).

During Sixth form College, I decided that I wanted to pursue a career in medicine and undertook the following subjects- Biology, Chemistry, Maths, German, as well as an Extended Project, and received 3A*s and A.

I am willing to support for the mentioned subjects above as well as medical school applications, including UCAT, personal statement and interview. If there are any difficulties you are facing, I am sure that I will try my best to give you the best support you need with the right resources.

About the lesson

As someone who had experience in teaching people from various age ranging from 5 to 18, I will be open to most levels of teaching. However, I have had the most experience in giving lessons for sciences and med school applications- from giving various lessons to working in the University as an interviewer.

My lessons would focus on basics, helping the students build a strong skeleton of understanding first such as general principles in science. I would then further aid them to perform better in their exams by giving them step to step guidance in answering questions and giving key tips such as exam techniques and note taking.

Typical length of lesson would vary from 45 minutes to 1 hour 30minutes, but I am always willing to give extra support outside of class such as answering additional questions and giving homework. After each session, I am willing to provide constructive feedback for the student and plan the next lesson on what we can improve on.
