About Arisa

Learning a language can be fun. I am very passionate about teaching Japanese. I want everyone to experience Japanese culture and have a fun time learning Japanese. I have many years of experience tutoring international students in Japan, and I always loved the moment they understood new things, such as grammar, vocabulary or culture. I believe that if you can understand Japanese, you can enjoy Japanese culture like food, manga, anime and music more deeply.

About the lesson

Lessons customised to every student's needs and interests which are typically 1 to 2 hours in length.

For example, focused on vocabulary, or conversation, or grammar, or a mixture of everything.

If you tell me what you want to learn, I can prepare a lesson that is customised to you.

I can help with homework, assignments or tests.

Lessons are mostly in Japanese, but I can teach in simple English as well.

Perfect! I started studying Japanese in mid-November, and I’m honestly surprised by how much I’ve learned in such a short time. She has taught me grammar, numbers, and hiragana in a way that is clear, practical, and easy to understand.

He is a fast learner and an excellent student. He always prepares for the lessons and reviews what he has learned, so he consistently scores high on the tests we give each time. When he doesn’t understand something, he asks questions properly, which is why I believe he is making such quick progress in the language.

Perfect! She teaches me a lot about more casual Japanese, and phrases that are important to know! She also answers all my questions in an easy to understand way, and also makes sure to test me on things such as writing and speaking so I can improve.

She is very studious and understands what I teach her quickly. Also, she is a great student who prepares some questions in advance and approaches the lesson very enthusiastically. We often have fun talking about recent Japanese anime and music.

We only spoke English, and Arisa went out of her way to make sure we were included and looked after throughout our stay. She taught us words and cultural experiences with pleasure and asked us about our own. She was warm, patient, and friendly, and never once hesitated to offer help if (and when) we needed it!

She speaks Japanese at a native level, and her English skills are strong. She has a clear passion for language and culture, and goes out of her way to teach, always ensuring communication is clear and everyone is understood.

※I’ll be going back to Japan temporarily from mid-March to mid-April.
Basically, in-person lessons are held at Kogarah Library.
However, lessons are also possible at Hurstville Library or at a café.
For online lessons, I recommend students who are JLPT N4 level or above.
