About Tota
Hi! My name is Tota Garboua and I'm a recent college graduate from upstate South Carolina with a lot of experience working with young people. I was a tutor and book club leader with Brown Girls Read, a nonprofit organization inspiring a love of reading in girls of color aged 12-15. I also worked at the National Advocacy Institute, a summer camp for high schoolers interested in civic engagement. I am also an oldest sibling and frequently help my younger siblings and cousins with their homework!
Some of my other interests are art, creative writing, nature, cooking, and film. I'm so excited to meet and work with you!

I believe in an approach that empowers students to gain knowledge on their own, and encourages them to deeply understand and interpret information, rather than just memorize it. I will want to have a "Session 0" for all potential clients to see where they are, what they would like to work on, and what approach would work best for them. I'm open to working with all grade levels from Kindergarten to High School.
