About Jinran

I am Jinran Wang, an international student from China. I am a currently a student at UNSW. My undergraduate major is Sociology and I have obtained a certificate of Mandarin Level 2 B.
I have attended many tutoring classes in China, and I have learnt about some teachers' behaviours that are not very popular. I will try to avoid such behaviours. If students need it, they can also tell me directly what level they want me to achieve, such as whether they want to do exercises or use paper materials. I will try my best to do this within my capabilities.
I want to teach for two reasons. The first is that I hope to have a more fulfilling time after class. Teaching allows me to meet different people, not just playing games with my roommates. The second is that I hope to gain some experience and salary. This is my first time being involved in work. I will try my best.
At the moment I am hoping to be able to teach online or near UNSW and UYSD as Sydney winters are too cold and it gets dark very early.
Some Chinese need to speak every day, conversation, the basics of Pinyin, the strokes of Chinese characters, how to write to someone who speaks Chinese, error correction, good practice, I can do it all.

About the lesson

Teaching methods and ways of teaching need to be classified. If it is oral, I will practice with students and use Mandarin to have conversations. If it is reading, listening and writing, I will start with simple phrases or sentences. These will depend on the students' understanding of Chinese.
I studied and prepared for the Chinese Primary and Secondary Teacher Qualification Examination but missed the exam due to the epidemic.
I hope that a lesson will last about an hour so that it is not too tiring to learn. If necessary, the time can be adjusted accordingly.
I don't have any experience as a tutor at the moment, but some of my friends specialise in education and I will ask them for advice.
As for who the course is for, someone with a desire to learn, but who is not good at it. This is my first attempt at teaching, and I hope to have some basic knowledge of Chinese. If there is really no foundation, I will do my best.

Details

The bus fare for a ten-kilometre journey is around four dollars at peak times. Personally, I recommend online teaching.
If you need paper materials, please let me know in advance and I will check printing prices in Sydney and get back to you.
