About Diya
With my tutoring, I will engage the student to have fun learning whether through math, reading, or science. I believe that a little bit of fun helps a struggling mind. My lessons are designed to be fun, not lectures incorporated with review and math to make the student truly understand the lesson and the content. My goal in tutoring is to make sure that each student who is struggling with a topic, learns and understands it to such a high degree that they can teach it back to me. As Albert Einstein once said, “If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.”

Teaching Methods -
Start off with a form on the topic that they wish to learn or understand (exp Algebra 1) and use it as a checking point in order to get the students' weaknesses and focus more on them.
Have the student explain why they went wrong and the correct solution to the problem.
Thoroughly explain material to the student in a fun and interactive manner.
If the student doesn’t get something, help the student reach the conclusion step by step.
Have the student explain material back to me in order to guarantee full understanding.
Games such as kahoot, quizizz and more to entertain students.
Not much homework except on material that the student finds difficult.
Check in quizzes every two weeks.
Extra resources/ practices and videos for the students to use.
Typical Lesson Plan
Review of the last week’s material for ten minutes/practice sheets.
Introduction to the next topic for 25 minutes and going through problems together.
Have the student go through problems themself for 10 minutes and check together.
Play a review game or explain again for the next 15 minutes.

Elementary, middle school and highschool students looking for tutors.
Needing help on anything up to Algebra 2, Physics or AP Lang.
