About Rachel

I teach because we are unique, we have so many differences from our heights to our hair colour, because of this I know that we all learn differently. Sometimes at school kids may not understand certain topics or struggle to find their feet but it isn't because they aren't smart, they just have to look and understand it from a different angle (I know because that was me!). Being able to help kids find that angle in order to be the best student they can be is why I love to tutor. When kids come to me for help I want to create a safe space for them to be confident, creative and challenged.

About the lesson

I have almost 4 years of tutoring experience and learned teaching techniques from excellent academic professors and teachers. My lessons contain a lot of Visual Learning tools and Active Recall exercises in order to challenge and enable my students to become confident in their work. I find that practicing exam style questions is the most efficient way to obtain desired results so they are almost always included in my lesson plans. Lessons typically run between 40 - 120 minutes long but they are usually tailored to the student individually. I have A-levels in Chemistry, Biology I am en route to complete my Bachelors degree in Medical Biochemistry by the end of this summer.
