About Rosina

Ever since I was a little girl, I knew that in my future I wanted to become a teacher. I have always looked up to my teachers, especially the ones I had in elementary school. I even played 'school' with my friends and pretended I had my own classroom. I can say even on the most stressful days, there is not a day that passes by that I regret becoming a teacher.
I have been passionate in my commitment to three things: maximizing individual student performance, inspiring students’ interest in technology and instilling a sense of self-worth among all students. I believe that for a student to reach his or her full potential, that as a teacher I need to inspire all students and help them realize how much they can achieve. I believe every student can become a great person with the right motivation and support by parents, friends and a teacher. Teaching is inspiring students and learning is obtaining knowledge.
We as teachers “need to integrate technology seamlessly into the curriculum instead of viewing it as an add-on, an afterthought, or an event.” (Heidi-Hayes Jacobs ). We live in a world where everything is at our fingertips, with endless possibilities. I incorporate technology into my curriculum. It allows me to connect with students of all learning styles, whether the child is a visual ,auditory or kinetics learner. There are countless resources for enhancing education and making learning more fun and effective.
I've learned as a teacher “the principal goal of education is to create men(women) who are capable of doing new things, not simply repeating what other generations have done-men (women) who are creative, inventive, and discoveries. The second goal of education is to form minds which can be critical, can verify, and not accept everything they are offered.” (Jean Piaget) . The purpose of being a teacher is not only to help children gain more knowledge to also allow them to have a better understanding of the world that they live in. To be their aid as they begin to explore the world around them and not accept things at face value. Guide them as they start off to a lifelong journey of learning and growing. Taking something that is unfamiliar and making it familiar as they are creative, inventive, and discover.
I hope that there is a child sitting in my classroom at this very moment who goes home and plays school just as I did. Slowly falling in love with the idea of being a teacher when they grow up.

I am a detail-oriented college graduate where I revised my masters in Childhood Education 1-6 grade General/Special from College Mount Saint Vincent . During the course of my academic career, I also managed to accrue a wide array of experience with children of multicultural backgrounds. I had the privilege of working in classroom as a head teacher, where I've learned valuable professional skills such as adaptive teaching methods, classroom management, building relationships with students and parents and lesson planning. In both my academic and professional life, I have been consistently praised as proactive by my professors and peers. Whether working on academic, extracurricular, or professional projects, I apply proven problem- solving, organizational, and technical skills.
