My name is mikey and I am a PhD student at Oxford. One of the most enjoyable parts of this is doing outreach and teaching students. I find it really rewarding especially when i can help give a student a spark of excitement or achievement on what are in all reality very tough subjects!

I have taught undergraduates and secondary school students for a few years now and find that the most useful approach is solving problems together! I have also undertaken teaching courses at the University of Sussex to explore educational psychology which largely boiled down to knowing when to try something new.
Going through either exam questions or practice questions is the best way to learn in STEM and once we have an idea of where you are struggling we can focus in on that and explore it with more resources or learning methods.
I am happy to teach anywhere from half hour sessions (ideal for exam prep) to hour long sessions (better for going over lots of content or more tricky stuff in depth). I teach maths and physics at GCSE and chemistry and biology at GCSE and A-level.
