About Alexander
Admittedly I have not tutored professionally until freelancing here. However, being at a high ranked university for physics I have attended many lectures; from the current Lucasian Professor of Mathematics to Nobel Prize winner Barry Barish. I have observed much of what makes a good physics teacher and what doesn’t. What has worked for myself and my peers, and what hasn’t. Combined with a deep knowledge of the concepts at the level in which I tutor at, I hope to be of help to those who are committed to understanding.

I am partial to a more open teaching style that, as a priority attempts to draw out the students personal intuition. I believe that this not only makes them more effective in solving future problems when an arbiter is not there to help them, it also makes them feel more validated within an academic environment and more inclined to identify themselves with their academic work. Just because you know how to get the right answer to a problem doesn’t mean you truly understand what you did. And just because you don’t know how to solve a problem that doesn’t mean the deeper understanding isn’t there waiting to be coalesced and honed.
