About Maria
Hello, here’s a little about me! Math’s always been my favorite & something I enjoy doing. In high school I was ranked 11th in a class of 200. In saying this, my GPA was a 97% & my averages in math were always high 90s or even over 100%. I am a very organized person especially when it comes to school stuff. I have worked at a retail store for 2 years and I also work at a daycare which I absolutely love. In high school I ran on the track and field team, played softball, was on the cheer team and was captain for varsity 3 consecutive years. In addition to that and my education, I did a tremendous amount of community service through my school in which I learned a lot! Now that I am continuing my education at Queens College, I plan to continue to keep myself busy and do things that will not only benefit myself but also others! Lastly, I do own and drive my own car so I can travel anywhere needed!

As a teacher, I plan on teaching the students how to do the math first, then showing them skills and tips to help them and during all that we will be doing lots of practice problems. I find that doing many different types of math problems is the most efficient way of getting to know how to do the problems because your really drilling it intoned your brain as well as getting to know all the different scenarios there can be. Of course if the student or parent has another teaching preference I will be happily to do whatever is asked/wanted!
