About Jo-Li

Hello, my name is Jo-Li, and I am a dedicated and enthusiastic education student with a strong passion for helping learners grow in confidence and ability. I approach private tutoring with professionalism, patience, and genuine care for each learner’s individual needs. I believe that a positive, supportive learning environment is key to meaningful progress.

I am currently studying towards a Bachelor of Education, which allows me to apply up-to-date teaching methods and educational theory in my lessons. I also have practical experience working with learners, supporting them with foundational skills, homework, and exam preparation. I take pride in being well-prepared, reliable, and committed to each lesson.

I am fully proficient in both English and Afrikaans and am able to teach in either language, depending on the learner’s preference. My lessons are structured yet flexible, with clear explanations, guided practice, and time for questions. Learners can expect encouragement, consistency, and lessons that are adapted to their pace and learning style.

My tutoring is aimed mainly at Foundation Phase and Intermediate Phase learners, as well as learners who need extra support, confidence-building, or reinforcement of basic academic skills. My goal is to help learners achieve steady progress while developing a positive attitude toward learning.

About the lesson

My approach to private tutoring is supportive, patient, and learner-focused. I believe that every learner can succeed when they feel comfortable, encouraged, and understood. I adapt each lesson to suit the learner’s pace and learning style, and I enjoy using creative and practical ways to explain concepts so that learning feels less stressful and more enjoyable.

I am able to teach in both English and Afrikaans, and I happily adjust the language of instruction to what the learner is most comfortable with.

A typical lesson includes a quick recap, clear explanations, guided practice, and time for questions. I create a calm and positive learning environment where learners feel confident to try, make mistakes, and improve. I also assist with homework, test preparation, and strengthening basic skills where needed.

My lessons are aimed at Foundation Phase and Intermediate Phase learners, as well as learners who need extra support, confidence-building, or a more personalised learning pace. My goal is to help learners grow academically while enjoying the learning process.
