About Jathursan
Hello, I’m Jathursan Suthakaran, a student at Loughborough University with a strong passion for mathematics. I’ve always enjoyed problem solving and understanding how mathematical ideas connect, which is what motivated me to start tutoring.
I want to teach because I know that maths can sometimes feel confusing or intimidating, and having someone explain it in a clear and supportive way can make a huge difference. My goal is to help students build confidence and develop a deeper understanding of the subject.
Through tutoring, I hope to make maths more approachable and help students achieve the grades they are aiming for, whether that’s improving their understanding of difficult topics or preparing for important exams.

My tutoring focuses on building strong understanding and confidence in maths. I explain concepts clearly and work through examples before moving on to exam-style questions, helping students understand both the method and the reasoning behind it.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes and tailored to the student’s needs. We focus on areas they find challenging, practise exam questions, and develop effective problem-solving and exam techniques.
I study at Loughborough University and teach GCSE Maths, GCSE Further Maths, and A-Level Maths. My lessons are designed for students aged 14–18 who want to improve their understanding, confidence, and exam performance.
