About Thomas
HI I am Thomas. I'm about to start my 3rd year of Computer Science at the University of Surrey. I have always loved Computer Science and Maths since GCSE and I always knew I wanted to pursue a career in Computer Science. I am just finishing my placement year as a Computer Scientist doing medical development and research. Computer Science has a deep link with Maths so I have kept updating and expanding with my knowledge of Maths throughout my degree.

I teach A-Level and GCSE Computer Science and Maths, with a focus on helping students overcome the specific challenges they're facing at school. Each lesson is tailored to the individual. We can either identify problem areas based on the student's own feedback or work through past paper questions to reveal strengths and weaknesses. Once we've found areas for improvement, I prepare targeted practice questions in advance. During the lesson, I explain the topic clearly and guide the student through these exercises, ensuring they fully grasp the concepts. We also regularly revisit topics we've covered in previous sessions to reinforce understanding and build long-term retention. Each lesson typically lasts an hour, and I usually provide follow-up questions or content for the student to work on in their own time. This helps consolidate what we've learned and prepares them for future lessons and exams.
