About Kate
Having studied the German language diligently for over 8 years, I love to inspire the love of language-learning in my students and draw their attention to the real-world applications of their studies. I have found my exchange programme thoroughly enriching, and would love to show my students what doors foreign languages can open. After receiving 3 A* A Level Grades, including my A* in German, I am now also on track to receive a 1st from University of Edinburgh at the end of my degree. Outside of academia, I owe my constantly evolving German knowledge to the friends and connections I have made whilst living in Germany, which no doubt gives me some edge for language learning!

Concentrating around vocabulary accumulation, I encourage students to engage with their own interests, interrogating texts and media resources and noting down vocabulary as they go along. The work will build up to creating personalised language banks, which will be revised using vocabulary tests. I also aim to strengthen essay writing skills, helping students to build a bank of essay phrases while simultaneously strengthening grammar. With my experience living in Germany, I also help students to engage with German colloquialisms, and speak like a native for students aiming for top grades in their A Levels. I am open to teaching both GCSE level and A-Level/university entrance level
