About Annie
Grade exam prep, posture, and hold technique serve as the foundation for the precision I require. 6 years of experience across the American South has shaped how I teach spiccato and staccato bowing, left hand agility, scales, and arpeggios. Vibrato, tone production, orchestral playing, and shifting positions are essential parts of my instruction as I draw from my 13 years of playing. I enjoy guiding students through the mechanics of the instrument by focusing on steady growth and comfort.

"Bow hair gliding against tight steel strings produces a resonance that fills the practice room. We spend time on technical drills before moving into the repertoire that makes music feel alive.
My background playing at festivals across the American South informs how I introduce complex ornamentation and stylistic flair to the violin. Students receive custom scale and etude sheets for each student to ensure they have exactly what they need between our meetings. I rely on my 6 years of experience to make the process of learning the instrument manageable for all levels. Most of our work emphasizes clarity in bowing and consistency in finger placement.
You will find that these sessions are grounded in the realities of performance rather than just theory. We keep the atmosphere focused but light as we work toward better musical control."
