About Joseph

I started coding at 18 with zero knowledge of programming. I attended Nottingham Trent University studying Cyber Security and was tutored by professors as well as online courses. I finished by bachelors with First Class Honours alongside being awarded the Department of Computer Science Prize for Outstanding Performance. I then joined a Masters program in IT Security (Nottingham Trent University) whereby I continued on my coding journey receiving a Distinction.

I was not academically gifted by any means and started very late learning the basic fundamentals of coding in my last year of secondary school. Now I am able to develop my own antimalware software in python by interacting with public database APIs, my most recent python application is able to find software vulnerabilities in networks. If I can do it, you can too!

Python is the best language for beginners as its application is only limited by the user’s imagination. Although I am security based, this tutoring is for learning python and my sessions will provide you the skills to embark on any journey oyu decide from Cyber Security, Game Development, Data Science and more.

About the lesson

My sessions are an hour long with 15 minutes outlining the objective of the session showing the pupil what they are going to be capable of by the end of the session. This is followed with step by step guidance which is finalised with a presentation of code by the pupil. The presentation of code is demonstrate an understanding of the code they have written and is required when submitting coding projects at higher education (University).

These sessions are for anyone with no previous experience of coding required.

I have experience tutoring younger years not only in coding but in sport and a range of STEM subjects. I believe this experience will enable me to make your child tick when it comes to making coding fun and engaging.

Although I have no experience of tutoring older individuals there is no age or level requirement. I was a complete beginner at the age of 18 and now I have a bachelors and master’s degree with both of my major projects being python based.

Details

Travel costs will vary based on the location of the tutoring. A fixed rate only results in inaccurate compensation and I dont wish to over charge.

The current price of £15/h will remain for as long as I can meet the demand, any price changes will be explained in advance. I'm unsure of the superprof platforms policy on mid package price changes but if my hourly rate does change, already purchased packages will not be affected.
