About Chinmay

I am a passionate cybersecurity professional and educator dedicated to empowering the next generation of cybersecurity experts. As a master’s student at Pace University, New York, specializing in cybersecurity, I have acquired a strong foundation in network security, digital forensics, penetration testing, and incident response. With an expected graduation in May 2025, I am committed to staying at the forefront of cybersecurity advancements. Beyond academics, I hold several industry-recognized certifications, including Microsoft Career Essentials in Cybersecurity, CISCO Cyber Threat Management, and LinkedIn Incident Response Planning. My hands-on experience includes conducting phishing simulations, threat assessments, and security protocol optimizations during my time as a Cybersecurity Virtual Job Simulator at MasterCard and Software Developer Intern at Priro Systems, US. As an educator, my teaching philosophy revolves around interactive, real-world problem-solving. I believe in bridging the gap between theory and practice through live labs, case studies, ethical hacking challenges, and Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions. My goal is to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment that equips students with the technical expertise and critical thinking skills needed to thrive in the fast-evolving cybersecurity landscape. With a deep passion for mentoring and guiding students, I am committed to helping aspiring cybersecurity professionals navigate their careers by providing practical knowledge, industry insights, and career development support.

About the lesson

My Teaching Approach and Methods:
As a cybersecurity educator, my teaching approach is a blend of theoretical instruction and hands-on practical application. I utilize a problem-based learning methodology, ensuring that students engage with real-world cybersecurity challenges rather than just theoretical concepts. By integrating case studies, live demonstrations, and cybersecurity simulations, I enable students to develop a proactive and analytical mindset in the field.

I emphasize interactive learning by encouraging students to participate in discussions, conduct research, and collaborate on projects that mirror industry scenarios. I also implement gamification techniques, such as Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions, to make complex cybersecurity concepts engaging and practical.

A Typical Lesson Plan:
Each lesson follows a structured approach:

Introduction (10-15 mins): Brief discussion of key cybersecurity concepts and their relevance in today’s threat landscape.

Core Content (20-30 mins): A deep dive into the lesson topic, integrating case studies and practical demonstrations.

Q&A and Discussion (15-20 mins): Open forum for students to ask questions and discuss challenges faced during hands-on activities.

Real-World Application (10-15 mins): Exploring how today’s lesson applies to industry practices, certifications, and career growth.
