About Abiola

I was born in London, which has a rich Deaf community. I am a native BSL user, which is a beautiful language!
When I was younger I trained to be a TA (Teaching Assistant) in a mainstream school with both Deaf and hearing students. After looking at the Deaf community and the children I was supporting and seeing there were not enough BSL users, CSWs (Communication Support Workers) or interpreters, I decided to become a teacher to encourage more of a mixed community of both Deaf and hearing people.

About the lesson

I hope to start teaching in smaller classes to make it more intimate, encourage them and build their confidence. Teaching and playing games, having fun and showing them a warm smile and making them feel welcome with my positive attitude.

The students will benefit from making friends, learning about deaf culture, experiencing a new hobby and developing confidence within the group and the Deaf community. They will also benefit from the ability to move up to the next level of the course.

Perfect! Abiola is clear, kind, knowledgable, patient, intuitive, and funny! She is a delight to work with and has met me at exactly my stage of learning, with no judgement. I wasn't how Zoom-based learning would go but it's absolutely fine because of her. High recommended.

Perfect! I had a really good first lesson with Abiola where we did a review of the intro/foundations.
