About Zhasmin
While I do not have any formal experience, I was and still am, at university level, the student that people from my cohort ask for help and explanation on a topic and have had much positive feedback from people and encouragement to take on a tutoring role. Nevertheless, my grades speak for themselves, all being above an A for mandatory courses at GCSE and A-level. At GCSE level, I got a B in an extra Free Standing Maths Qualification (FSMQ) which counts as a 1/3rd of an A-level and only few students in my cohort dedicated themselves enough to reach to the exam.

Info about my teaching style:
While I am passionate about my subjects, I understand that not everyone is ecstatic about my level of knowledge, for example - there's no point teaching simultaneous equations to a struggling student if it isn't on the Foundation syllabus!
Depending on grade that the student is aiming for/predicted I will:
●spend the first lesson with students going through their exam board syllabus, make it explicit what content is the core of the course content and structure lessons in descending importance
● (for higher level students) spend the first lesson with students going through their exam board syllabus, identify the weakest links and structure lessons in ascending order of skill
I believe in spaced repetition so revisiting topics taught before is a must!
This will manifest in the form of:
●surprise questions during the first 10 minutes of lessons
●helping prepare and working through past papers when it comes closer to exam time to encourage active recall.
During normal lessons, there will be a mix of:
●theoretical teaching
●helping the student digest, understand and store useful information that has been presented
●visual aspects (such as diagrams)
In order for students to efficiently absorb knowledge, I will teach one core topic per lesson.
Top Tip if you want to get the most from me: Ask questions! I aim to have a friendly environment in lessons, I am not your teacher - I am your helper!
