About Bruce
I am a Chemistry tutor with more than 9 years of experience and an MSc in Industrial Chemistry. My teaching blends classical chemistry with computational modelling. My approach to Chemistry is calm, patient, and reflective. I emphasise strong mathematical foundations to make advanced concepts approachable. Physical chemistry is explored as the study of energy, molecules, and motion. Quantum mechanics shows how atoms and electrons behave in surprising ways. Thermodynamics explains energy transformations in chemical systems. Statistical mechanics links microscopic randomness to macroscopic patterns. Reaction kinetics, spectroscopy, and molecular modelling are also included. Complex topics are broken into small, manageable steps. I use real-life examples to make abstract ideas relatable. DIY biology thinking is encouraged for hands-on exploration. Imaginative learners use science fiction to picture unseen chemical systems. Equations are treated as tools for understanding, not obstacles. Reflection and questioning are integral parts of each session. Students are guided to develop personal problem-solving approaches.
