About Myamee

I bring a strong foundation in Mathematical Sciences with a teacher certification concentration and 1 year of teaching experience, which allows me to support students with both content knowledge and effective instructional strategies. My goal is to create a structured and encouraging learning environment where students feel supported, capable, and confident in their ability to succeed in math. I am committed to professionalism, clear communication, and adapting my teaching approach to meet each student’s individual needs so they can build lasting understanding and confidence in mathematical concepts.

About the lesson

As a tutor, I focus on making math clear, approachable, and something students can actually understand—not just memorize. My teaching method is centered on breaking down complex mathematical concepts into smaller, step-by-step ideas, then building them back together so students can see how everything connects. One of the most effective strategies I use is the I do – We do – You do method. I first model the problem (I do), then we work through similar problems together (We do), and finally the student completes problems independently with my support as needed (You do). I use clear explanations, guided practice, and real-life examples to help students understand not only how to solve problems, but why the methods work.

A typical lesson starts with a quick check-in to see what the student is currently working on or struggling with. From there, I review any necessary foundational skills, then walk through examples using the I do – We do – You do structure. After that, I let the student practice independently while I provide feedback and support when needed. At the end of the lesson, I review key takeaways and give practice problems or strategies to reinforce what we covered.

What sets me apart is my background in Mathematical Sciences with a teacher certification concentration, along with 1 year of teaching experience. I understand both the math content and how to teach it in a way that fits different learning styles. I also focus heavily on building confidence, because many students struggle in math not because they can’t do it, but because they haven’t been given the right support and explanation.

My lessons are designed for middle school, high school, and early college students who need support in algebra, geometry, or foundational mathematical concepts. Whether the goal is catching up, improving grades, or strengthening problem-solving skills, I aim to create a supportive environment where students can truly grow and succeed.
