About Lolo
My academic journey began at UC Santa Cruz where I obtained my B.A. in biology. Soon after graduating, I worked for a Pharmaceutical company sequencing DNA of different types of plants. The skills that I acquired at the lab, afforded me a position at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory working on the Human Genome Project.
After several years at Berkeley Lab, I was hired as Director of the Genomics Core Facility at UC Merced in 2007. There I ran the facility for a few years, then decided to go graduate school where I taught various science courses. Once I graduated, I lectured a couple of semesters at UC Merced.

As a previous University of California Merced lecturer and TA, I am aware of the challenges that students face in our current academic environment. My main interest is the Natural Sciences and have successfully taught students in various subjects within this discipline at a college level.
My approach is centered around helping and encouraging my students to reach their full potential to achieve their academic goals. Working closely with my students, I identify their strengths and weaknesses and tailor my lessons to their unique style of learning.
