About Alex
Hi, I'm Alex, and I'm excited to be your online tutor for Physics and Maths! I am a recent graduate from the University of Warwick, where I achieved a First Class Honours degree in Physics. I also achieved A* grades in both Maths and Physics at A-level, along with 9s at GCSE, and I’m passionate about helping others unlock their potential in these subjects.
What makes me stand out as a tutor is my ability to break down complex concepts into simple, easy-to-understand ideas. Physics and Maths can sometimes feel overwhelming, but with the right guidance, they become much clearer and even enjoyable. My approach is to tailor my teaching to each student’s needs, ensuring we focus on the areas you find challenging while building your overall confidence and problem-solving skills.
I love Physics and Maths because they allow us to understand the world more deeply, from the smallest particles to the vastness of the universe. Whether you’re preparing for exams or just want to get better at these subjects, I’m here to make learning engaging and fun, helping you achieve your goals and see real progress.

I structure my lessons around each student’s goals, starting with an initial discussion to identify strengths, challenges, and targets. From there, I create a clear learning plan that breaks topics into manageable steps, ensuring we build strong foundations before moving on to more complex ideas. Before each session, I prepare tailored explanations, practice questions, and exam-style problems so that every lesson is focused, productive, and engaging.
During lessons, I break down difficult concepts into simple, intuitive ideas, encouraging students to ask questions and think independently. I use worked examples, guided practice, and regular check-ins to make sure the student is confident before progressing. I believe learning is most effective when students feel supported, motivated, and able to see their own improvement.
To measure progress, I use short quizzes, exam-style questions, and periodic reviews to highlight what’s been mastered and what needs more attention. I also encourage students to reflect on their own understanding so they become active, independent learners.
Ultimately, my goal is to help students build confidence, develop strong problem-solving skills, and achieve the results they are aiming for. My lessons are student-focused, structured, and encouraging — designed to make Physics and Maths clearer, more enjoyable, and truly rewarding.
Recommendations

Alex was a tutor for my child, and I couldn’t recommend him more highly. From the very first lesson, he was calm, patient, and extremely clear in the way he explained difficult Physics concepts. He has a great ability to break things down step by step, which really helped build confidence rather than overwhelm.
Alex is reliable, well-prepared, and genuinely cares about his students’ progress. He always makes sure the student understands why something works, not just how to get the answer. I would absolutely recommend Alex to anyone looking for a trustworthy and effective A-Level tutor.I know Alex through tutoring, and he is someone I would strongly recommend as a tutor. He has an excellent subject knowledge in Physics and Maths, but what stands out is that he's really approachable. It’s easy to ask him questions without feeling judged, which makes learning a lot more productive.
Alex is well-organised and could adapt his teaching style to suit me, whether that was working through exam questions, using diagrams, or focusing on problem-solving techniques. He’s someone you can trust to explain things clearly and support you properly throughout your studies.View more recommendations
