About Jackie
Graduating from Manhattan School of Music with a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance provided the foundation for my 13 years of teaching. I focus on rhythm and timing, pedaling technique, and hand independence to build solid foundations. Jazz improvisation, sight transposition, and accompaniment skills are regular parts of my syllabus.
Music theory, scales and arpeggios, and ear training form the basis of our work together. Chord voicing becomes simple once you understand the mechanics involved. Students often come to me feeling nervous about their progress.

Admitting that music theory can be tedious at first helps us move past the initial hurdle. We start with a diagnostic playing assessment before we set a learning plan for your specific goals.
My 13 years of experience ensure that we do not waste time on ineffective practice habits. The process remains grounded in steady, measurable improvement. You will find that regular drills on rhythm and scales provide the backbone for every piece. I emphasize clear feedback during these sessions.
