About Clarissa
I have spent over nine years helping pianists explore the incredible world of music making and modern keyboard production. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Music Technology with a focus on keyboard production, which shaped my deep passion for composing music for film, television, and video games. My teaching style is fun, engaging, and personalized to fit the unique goals of school students, college learners, adults, and working professionals.
I specialize in advanced topics like melodic writing, orchestration, sound design with synthesizers, and working with professional digital audio workstations. I have successfully guided students from intermediate and advanced levels all the way to professional and expert stages of their careers. Many of my students want to learn how to create massive, emotional soundtracks using only their keyboard and a computer.
I remember coaching an intermediate piano student who wanted to score a short indie video game but had no idea how to blend orchestral virtual instruments with synths. We worked on layering deep string sounds and editing the MIDI tracks to make the performance sound like a real, breathing orchestra. They successfully delivered a beautiful soundtrack that perfectly matched the mood of the game.

My teaching methodology focuses on building deep confidence and helping you deliver highly impactful performances every time you play. We will work closely on performance anxiety management, developing a strong stage presence, and using reliable memorization techniques. I also provide comprehensive preparation for upcoming recitals, public performances, and competitive auditions.
This training is perfect for students preparing for formal music examinations or keyboardists who perform weekly in front of large congregations. For example, I recently worked with a church keyboard player who always froze and made mistakes during the opening song. We practiced specific breathing exercises and mental mapping techniques to help them focus through the noise.
