About Breea

I completed math courses throughout highschool and college including geometry,algebra,trig,precalc and up to calculus two. I started out hating math in junior high and it being my worst subject to it being my current minor. I have worked with students at varying math levels and have myself had to face the dreaded math placement sections of the ACT & SAT.

Although I am not a certified professor, I am dedicated and willing to work to each students specific needs. I can easily help students struggling in math from elementary into highschool and students struggling with their spanish courses.

Hey,
My name is Breea Diamond and I am a college student looking to help out other students over the summer. I am a biochemistry major at the University of Montana and have completed more math and sciences courses than I care to admit. I was born and raised in Colorado Springs and completed my International Baccalaureate diploma at William J. Palmer High school.I completed over 5 years of Spanish courses and worked as a volunteer tutor in the ESL program for two years. Outside of high school I decided to continue my Spanish education in an abroad program in Costa Rica.

I had the pleasure of working with Breea from 10th - 12th grades as her counselor at Palmer High School. Breea came into Palmer wanting to make a difference and she did this by taking the initiative to volunteer in the ESL (English as a Second Language) department. Breea gave up her free period to go to the ESL classrooms and be a teacher's aide to help the students. Breea says, "I thought it was important to contribute to my schools' community and it was a great opportunity to see the world from new perspectives."

Breea also volunteered as a teaching assistant for the Study Abroad Program trip to Heredia, Costa Rica. For the week, they went to Palenque, a primary school in a nearby town working with elementary-aged children to teach them about the benefits of staying in school. In this area of Costa Rica there are extremely high dropout rates in the schools. Breea felt especially motivated to make a difference in this village and encourage the students to stay in school.

Other activities Breea has been involved in is being a volunteer guide at the Manitou Heritage Center Ghost Tour for two Halloween seasons, 2014 & 2015. Breea was president of the Palmer Art Club and was a member of the National Honor Society.

Breea is a natural teacher and will do extremely well in this field!
