About Helena
Evolution and natural selection, biological drawing, microbiology, ecology and ecosystems, homeostasis, human anatomy, and the nervous system form the core of my teaching toolkit. It started when I realized that many bright applicants simply lack the right application strategy, which led me to tutor 97 students during my 6 years in the field.
I focus on those who need to improve their performance after a prior attempt. Precision is vital. I am an MD who knows exactly how to break down the dense jargon of the sciences. Sometimes the material is just too cluttered.

Clarity makes biology lessons enjoyable by stripping away the unnecessary noise surrounding complex systems. 10 specific techniques for identifying core concepts define my method. Each 6 minute block of instruction focuses on translating textbook text into actionable test strategies. I use my medical background to explain how these anatomical systems function in a clinical context.
We build understanding piece by piece until the content feels intuitive. I enjoy seeing students finally grasp the connections that previously seemed impossible to resolve.
