About Liam
I am a Grade 12 French Immersion Student fluent at a B2 DELF Level.
For the past 9 years I have been taking French courses in school as part of the Ontario Extended French Program. I chose to switch to immersion courses in Grade 10 as I wanted to continue to improve my French writing and reading more.
In 2020 before the pandemic I took a 6 week exchange to Lyon, France where I attended school for a month and travelled around the Alps. Since then I have gone back to visit my exchange family and stay connected to French culture.
As a competitive cross country skier in Canada, I frequently travel to Quebec (Gatineau and Quebec City) for competitions. Every time I go I make it a point to re-immerse myself in the language by speaking to my Quebecois.e.s friends.

Teaching lessons as a tutor who has gone through the process of learning French as a second language and understands the difficulty of it.
Teaching the things I wish I would have known when learning French as a young kid.
In my approach I do not believe in learning useless vocabulary first. You can’t use the vocabulary you learn if you don’t understand the basic grammar of the language. Just like in math, you can’t do complex problems if you cannot multiply and divide.
I think a mistake many schools have made is making grammar seem like a boring thing. There are many opportunities to learn grammar by reading and listening
