About Awais

I'm a Dentistry student, Science graduate and experienced tutor with a genuine passion for helping students achieve their goals.

Having gone through the competitive university admissions process myself, I understand the challenges involved and how important the right guidance and support can be.

I've worked with students of different ages, abilities and academic backgrounds, helping them build confidence, improve their understanding and strengthen their university applications.

I'm approachable, patient and genuinely invested in the success of every student I work with. Whether you're aiming for Dentistry, Medicine or simply exploring your options, I'll always give you honest advice, encouragement and my full support!

About the lesson

I'm a Dentistry student, Science graduate and experienced tutor, and if there's one thing I've learnt from teaching, it's that everyone learns differently. I don't believe in a one size fits all approach, so I'll always adapt my teaching to suit you!

My lessons are interactive, and I use Notability on my iPad to explain concepts, annotate questions and work through problems together. I've also got a massive whiteboard which comes in handy when something needs a proper explanation! I want you to actually understand what we're covering, not just memorise answers.

I offer UCAT, GAMSAT and Dentistry admissions support, including personal statements and interview preparation. I've helped students with their personal statements who've gone on to secure places, and I take a lot of pride in that. I won't give you a generic template or tell you what everyone else is writing. I'll work with you to bring out your own experiences and help you put together an application that genuinely reflects who you are!

For interview preparation, we can practise together, and I can also arrange mock interviews with dentists and doctors, all included at no additional cost.

I welcome students from all backgrounds and stages of education, whether you're at GCSE, sixth form, university, a graduate considering Dentistry or a mature applicant looking to change careers. Age doesn't matter to me, and neither does where you're starting from.

Lessons typically last 1–2 hours, but I'm more than happy to spend a little extra time if something isn't quite clicking. I don't believe in rushing through a topic just because the hour is up.

And one thing I really want to emphasise: please don't be put off if your grades aren't where you want them to be, or if someone has made you doubt whether Dentistry or Medicine is right for you. I'll always be realistic and honest about your options, but I'll never write you off because of where you're starting.

I'm genuinely invested in the students I teach. I'll support you, challenge you when needed and do my absolute best to help you reach your goals. Everyone's journey is different, and that's something I'll always respect.
