About SONAKSHI
I have been drawing for a long time now, and have chosen it as my career path. I am a design student in my third year at NIFT, Kolkata. I had an excellent drawing teacher when I was younger, who instilled the love of art and craft in me and built a foundation that has enabled me to break the classical rules of painting and reach sky high. I understand the importance of having a strong base now that I am in the art field, and I want to help aspiring students in the same way. Art has no limits, but it is always easier to break the glass ceiling if you have a steady ground beneath you.

My method of teaching gives the students full artistic freedom over their creations. I believe in teaching basic techniques and ground rules so that the student can develop his own style. Basic knowledge of rules is very necessary, as you can break the rules only if you know them! My classes will give you a foundation, so that you can break the limits and fly in your own style. The classes will also include fun craft activities to engage the students.
These classes are meant for any person who is a beginner. Anybody above 6 years of age can join in. The classes will be customized according to your level. Older people who want to learn from scratch can also join in.
Basic techniques that I will cover are, sketching, rendering with dry media(crayons, pencils, pastels)and water color( for those ready for it). Examples of craft work are origami, paper crafts, creative composition techniques like collage.
