About Francis
I want you to be able to describe what you hear without judging your whole voice from one attempt. I use specific language about a phrase, a breath, or a vowel, and I encourage you to share what feels comfortable or confusing. I do not expect the same imagery or exercise to help every singer.
I see expression as something we can explore through choices. We might change a consonant, a pause, or the direction of a phrase and listen to how the meaning shifts. I want technique to support the words and music you care about, while keeping comfort central to the work.
I aim to create room for tentative sounds, questions, and gradual progress. I help you identify a manageable next step and recognize when an approach is useful. Whether you are beginning to sing in front of someone or refining a familiar song, I want you to build understanding and confidence together.

I connect vocal exercises to short phrases from songs, so you can hear what an exercise contributes. We might explore an easy sound on a few notes, then use that feeling in a lyric. I focus on comfortable coordination and clear listening rather than asking you to force more volume or reach higher at any cost.
I break a difficult phrase into manageable questions: where you breathe, which vowel changes, how the rhythm moves, or where the melody becomes uncertain. A beginner can use that process to find a steadier starting point; a returning singer can rebuild confidence; an experienced singer can refine phrasing and consistency. We keep the work within a comfortable range and pause if singing causes discomfort.
I include pitch, rhythm, diction, and interpretation in practical tasks. Children might use echo games and short melodies; teenagers and adults might compare spoken and sung lyrics or experiment with different phrase shapes. Between lessons, I suggest brief, focused practice that supports the song, with clear cues for listening and avoiding strain.
