Methodology

Duration : Approximately 10 Weeks - Price : $150.00 - Place : Ventura (93003)1. We begin with exploring the user controls found on most modern digital cameras.
2. We move into the 'Exposure Triangle', the single most critical tool found on all cameras. How to control exposure with the three main elements and the creative effects when modifying an exposure element.
3. Next we look at Composition and how to capture the most pleasing scene in camera. Composition is the make or break point in Fine Art Photography.
4. We then go back to the Exposure Triangle and manually adjust all three elements for specific effects on the captured subject. Such effects as; freezing a racing motorcycle rider the moment he leaves his mount in mid air, or capturing automobiles at dusk driving down a curving highway with their head and tail lights forming a stream of colored light bands, or a mountain lake scene with snow capped mountains and how to frame the scene with overhanging branches and keeping all in pin sharp focus. How to use focus effects to direct a viewers' eye to the central point of interest.
5. We will touch upon the topic of High Dynamic Range (HDR) exposures. Processing requires the next course "Digital Processing".

Each chapter of the course will be delivered electronically via E-Mail in Portable Document File formats (.PDF). You will be permitted to print paper copies of the course material and save for future reference, much like a college textbook.
Each chapter will be delivered weekly depending on the overall progress of the students. Chapter deliveries may be delayed a week or so if students need additional time to complete the course work.
Progress reports will be given to each student chapter by chapter. No student will be left behind, all students will have daily communication with the instructor by e-mail, or telephone.

Photography is a form of art. As an art form photography has specific elements; such as, Electronics, Chemistry, Physics, and Motion. You will not need a Degree in any of the scientific disciplines, but you will be exposed and carefully guided through those elements that make photography an art form.
When you complete the full course successfully you will have all the tools necessary to capture rewarding photographic art. You then will no longer need to follow the strict rules learned in this course, you will be able to make your own modifications to capture the scene the way your art talent directs. Most importantly, if your capture fails you still have the tools to go back and capture it using the lessons found in this course.
Photography is a never ending learning path, it enables the artist to create art using his/her own artistic talents, stretch those talents to the limits and beyond, and when not totally successful return to the basics.

At the conclusion of the course you will be provided a certificate of completion, signed and dated by the instructor.
