About Linda
I'm passionate about showing everyone whatever their background or educational level, how the technology of today can change their lives and make things easier, simpler and more fun without it being a mountain to climb or a chore to do. I'm very patient, willing to repeat and go over things endless times until you've got it and able to explain things in terms you'll understand, instead of all the blurb.
I've spent my working life in IT and am now semi-retired. I work with AbilityNet, a charity aimed at helping the elderly and disabled to access digital skills and technology, for the past five years and would like to help more people.

Do you have a Smart Phone, Tablet, laptop or PC but don't feel you make the best use of it? Are you worried that everything is moving online and you'll not know what to do? Do you feel as though everyone else knows how to use their devices and you're left feeling foolish? Do you feel like you're missing out? Will no one spend time to show you how to do things for yourself instead of doing them for you? There's a whole new language which everyone else seems to understand "scan the QR code", "download the app", "upload your documents" - where do you start to understand? Everyone uses their tech in their own way and we all have different needs so it's hard to become self-sufficient or know where to look for help. I have been giving 1-2-1 lessons and small group sessions for over 5 years now to people over 55 from all walks of life who just need a bit of help to get started or to understand how it all works and what all these weird and wonderful things are. My sessions are tailored to your specific needs and can be on one subject e.g. emails or shopping online or more broader topics such as "how do I use this" "where do I start" "what do all these words mean". All sessions presume you have no previous knowledge. If you have then you'll just be able to fit more into a lesson. You will never be pushed to go faster than you want to. Take it totally at your own pace. Lessons typically last 90mins each - much more and your brain starts to hurt. You can have a few just so you can get started or 1 a week until you're confident you know what you're doing. There's no minimum or maximum. We're all individuals. You'll need to have your first few sessions in person - after that you can move online if you prefer.
