About Tamara

I'm a UX and service designer with a rich and varied professional background.

I have experience volunteering as a Digital Buddy with Hackney Council, assisting people lacking tech and digital skills - often elderly or people with language or learning difficulties.

All my work experiences included problem-solving and different levels of accessibility challenges, so I've decided to make it my focus and goal, as a designer, to improve processes and experiences at every stage of a user's journey, particularly focusing on inclusivity and accessibility when it comes to language, (dis)ability and tech-literacy.

Over the course of my professional and personal experience I've been introduced to diverse communities of people with different needs.

I've worked with children (and families of children) with both physical and cognitive disabilities, including neurodiversity; with displaced people with English as a second language (ESL) and no tech skills, adjusting to a life in a new culture; with tourists in travel and hospitality industry who struggled with navigation and booking services; in EdTech with online learners from all over the world during the worldwide pandemic; with freelancers and agencies within non-profit, tech and social good sector.

About the lesson

I'm offering patient and caring tutoring in safe Internet navigation and use of computers and smartphones for seniors.

I can teach how to use both the smartphone and desktop; online communication (messaging via WhatsApp, Telegram, Viber), entertainment (setting up and navigating YouTube & Netflix, or games), online shopping (Amazon, eBay, Vinted), use of social media (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) and more.

In addition to that, I can help with using email, smartphone camera, online banking, using video conferencing tools (Zoom, Google Meet, Teams) and booking GP appointments online.

I have already helped dozens of people learning to make online payments, fill out and submit online applications (like using the council website or applying for benefits), planning and booking travel, doing online research, installing and reading ebooks or audiobooks, and much more.
