About Ethan

Hi, I'm Ethan! I am a graduate of UNC School of the Arts' Contemporary Dance program. Since graduating, I danced with Disney Cruise Line for two contracts and performed with RWS Global, the Center for Performance Research, and independent companies across New York. I have studied and danced throughout Europe and Asia as a part of an international documentary.

I have also choreographed for YAGP, Greensboro Performing Arts, Kiser Middle School, taught dance in North Carolina schools, and judged national dance competitions including KAR/Rainbow in Los Angeles.

About the lesson

I believe that dance is the outward expression of freedom and joy, and I want to help you fully embody those feelings and achieve your individual goals.

I studied contemporary dance at UNC School of the Arts and I've been working as a professional ever since, from New York concert dance to global theater productions.

I focus just as much on the technique as I do on the storytelling, the texture, and the quality of movement. I teach all ages and skill levels, from people that have spent years honing their craft in studios, to those slipping on the first pair of ballet shoes they'd always dreamed of dancing in.

A Typical Lesson Plan:

Lessons are usually an hour and we tailor them to the results that you're looking for.

These plans typically fall into one of three categories:

1. Technique Classes: A one-hour class including warm-up, center, and/or combination work tailored to your needs and skillset.

2. Combination or Movement Reviews: Targeted sessions dedicated to reviewing and improving specific combinations or movements, usually in preparation for a recital, competition, or performance.

3. Audition Preparation: Teaching and/or reviewing self-tapes or combinations to in-person auditions, or going over audition prep and skills.

What Sets Me Apart:

I've done two Disney Cruise Line contracts, I perform with RWS Global and independent companies in New York, and I choreograph and make films. I've also taught in schools and have judged some of the largest dance competitions in the United States, so I've seen dance from the studio, the stage, and the judges' table. What I teach is what I actually use in my profession.

I am well-versed in the following genres: Ballet, Contemporary Ballet, Contemporary, Modern, Post-Modern, Jazz, Traditional, and many more!

But this isn't about me. This is about YOU! Your dreams and your goals. So reach out if you have any questions or thoughts, and let's dance!
