About Lola

I am a passionate Saxophone tutor with 12 years of teaching experience, working with school students, college learners, and working professionals. I help students build strong fundamentals and enjoy their musical journey.

My teaching philosophy is built on understanding, communication, and steady practice. I explain musical concepts in simple English and use real-life examples to make learning practical and easy.

I maintain a friendly and motivating learning environment where students feel confident and supported. Integrity, discipline, and regular practice are key values I promote in my lessons.

My saxophone lessons include breathing control, embouchure development, tone quality, finger coordination, rhythm accuracy, scales, and musical expression. Lessons are designed to match each student’s learning level and goals.

Over the years, many of my students have become confident saxophone players. My goal is to support students in achieving long-term musical growth and enjoyment.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology for Saxophone is built on Adaptation to Learning Styles, Flexibility, Collaboration, and Positivity. I understand that every student learns music differently, so I first assess the student’s level, musical background, and personal goals. Based on this, I customise lessons to suit visual learners (using notation and diagrams), auditory learners (listening and imitation), and practical learners (hands-on playing and repetition).

For beginners, I focus on correct posture, breath control, embouchure, tone production, and reading basic notation. For intermediate and advanced students, lessons include scale mastery, articulation techniques, rhythm accuracy, improvisation basics, tone shaping, and stylistic playing across genres like classical, jazz, and popular music. I keep my teaching flexible, allowing the pace and lesson structure to change based on the student’s progress and comfort level.

Collaboration plays an important role in my classes. I encourage students to ask questions, suggest songs they enjoy, and participate actively in lesson planning. This helps them feel confident and motivated. I also use backing tracks, play-along exercises, and duet practice to improve timing and musical expression.

A positive learning environment is central to my teaching. I believe encouragement builds confidence and consistency. Mistakes are treated as learning opportunities, not failures. In addition to saxophone, I also teach music theory, ear training, rhythm exercises, and basic improvisation skills to help students become complete musicians.
