About Arlo
I am a passionate piano tutor with over 12 years of experience teaching students from school, college, and professional backgrounds. I believe that learning piano should be both structured and enjoyable, allowing students to develop technical skill, creativity, and musical expression.
My teaching approach emphasises patience, clear communication, and personalised lessons tailored to each student’s learning style and goals. I focus on building strong fundamentals, including finger technique, hand coordination, rhythm, and sight-reading, while gradually introducing advanced techniques.
I also teach music theory, ear training, and rhythm exercises to provide a complete musical education. Lessons are interactive, engaging, and often include song practice, creative exercises, and performance preparation. I specialise in simplifying complex concepts, motivating students, and helping them develop confidence, consistent practice routines, and disciplined habits.
My ultimate goal is to create a positive, supportive, and inspiring environment where students can enjoy learning piano and achieve their full potential.

My teaching methodology is designed to provide comprehensive and creative music education. I focus on building technical skill, musical understanding, and personal expression. Through open communication, I understand each student’s goals, learning style, and challenges, which allows me to tailor lessons that are meaningful, effective, and motivating.
Creativity is central to my approach. I encourage students to explore improvisation, composition, and different musical genres, helping them develop a personal musical voice and artistic confidence. Flexibility ensures that lessons are adapted to the student’s pace, preferences, and level of expertise, creating a stress-free and enjoyable learning experience.
In addition to piano, I teach music theory, sight-reading, rhythm exercises, and ear training. This holistic methodology strengthens students’ technical skills, musical understanding, and expressive ability. My aim is to cultivate confident, skilled, and lifelong musicians who enjoy exploring and performing music with creativity and passion.
