About Gregory
I love science and love sharing knowledge! I remember watching werewolf movies as a child and then going out to look at the moon and gaze up in wonder at it. I think that's what got me into science. Perhaps the moon can't turn us into wolves, but it can sure affect our lives! I had a long involvement with ASTRA, a spaceflight and astronomy educational charity that I became President of, sadly now defunct. I founded the Galilean Society, named after the scientist Galileo, a popular-science society (been in hiatus since the pandemic). As a result, I have given many talks. Why teach? Let's be honest - there's nothing better in life than sharing your passions with others!

We all learn in different ways, and we can all pick up some stuff. But when we hit an obstacle, it can be because the basics haven't been fully explained. Language itself can be a barrier, with unusual groupings of words and hidden meanings. Symbols and what they represent can also cause confusion. Focusing on these elements can greatly improve the broader understanding of a subject. I have a degree in Physics & Astronomy from Glasgow University, and a PhD in Astrophysics from Keele University in Staffordshire, England. I taught many undergraduates as part of my PhD and was voted most approachable Teaching Assistant! I'm focusing on high-school age students but am happy to help both younger and college/university students. Typical lessons are 1 hour but can do shorter/longer as needed.
