About Samantha
I have over fifteen years of professional experience in the life sciences, including fellowships at University of Pittsburgh and UCLA. More locally, I earned my doctorate at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and worked as a Field Botanist at Cleveland Metroparks, where I also did extensive outreach with all age groups. Throughout my career I have taught at multiple levels, including developing learning modules for Pittsburgh Public School (middle school and high school levels).

My approach is tailored to the needs of each student, but my primary focus is to help my students find learning strategies that will serve them throughout their lives no matter what their goals are. I have broad experience ranging from hands on learning in indoor and outdoor settings for environmental science and related fields, to professional tutoring experience with high school students in math, biology, and english, to teaching graduate level seminars in computational biology.
