About Levi

I’m a PhD-qualified criminologist specializing in policing, road safety, and enforcement. I have published peer-reviewed research, presented at national and international conferences, and work closely with national and international policing agencies on applied research projects. My work sits at the intersection of theory and practice, which means I understand both academic expectations and real-world policing realities.

About the lesson

My tutoring style is structured but relaxed. I focus on making complex criminology and policing concepts clear, practical, and relevant. Whether we’re unpacking theory, improving assignment writing, preparing for exams, or connecting research to real-world policing, I tailor each session to your goals and current level.

I use a scaffolded approach, breaking down tricky concepts (like police legitimacy, deterrence, procedural justice, or research methods) into simple components, then building them back up through examples and discussion. For university students, that often means refining arguments, strengthening academic writing, and working through journal articles. For serving police completing professional development, we focus on applying evidence to operational practice and decision-making.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes, with the option of longer sessions if needed.

I hold a PhD in Criminology and have published and presented research in policing and road safety internationally. I’ve mentored undergraduate, honours, and postgraduate students, and I regularly work alongside policing professionals, so I understand both academic standards and frontline realities.

My lessons are for university students (undergraduate to postgraduate) and serving police undertaking study or professional development. My goal is to help you feel confident, capable, and clear in your thinking.
