About Karen
I have been tutoring and instructing for over 2 years.
I have a M.Ed in Special Education and one in Reading Instruction, including: reading comprehension, fluency, and study skills.
I have successfully provided individualized tutoring and instruction to students in grades: K-12 and Continuing Adult Education (College Preparatory English).
I also have instructed students, K-12, in English Language Development.
The success of my students has been due to a combination of their efforts and the individualized Instruction program designed to suit each student's needs.

Hi! I have been a tutor and instructor for over 20 years. I believe the secret to success, for each student, is for the instructor to simplify the area of study, identify the student's learning style, and create a program that works for each student. Some teachers teach in one learning style, to one generalized audience. This does not lead every student to success! I am experienced at identifying the individual needs of each student and providing an educational program that works for the individual student, catered to his/her strengths and challenges. I have taught K-12 in English/Language Arts, Language Developmemt, General and Special Education . I have also taught adult continuing education for English/Language Arts. My belief is that teachers have the responsibility to create an educational program customized for differing learning styles, challenges, and strengths. One size does not fit all when it comes to designing lesson plans that promote student success.
