About Salma
I’m Salma Daoudi, a DPhil (PhD) researcher in International Relations at the University of Oxford, specialising in international security and Middle East politics. Alongside my research, I’ve worked with international organisations and conducted fieldwork across the Middle East, which allows me to bring real-world insights into the classroom. I want to teach because I believe politics is more than abstract theory, it’s a way of understanding the world and our place within it. What excites me most is helping students make sense of complex ideas, see the connections between global events and daily life, and grow confident in expressing their own perspectives. My lessons are professional but also welcoming and supportive. I take the time to listen, adapt to each student’s needs, and create an environment where questions and curiosity are encouraged. Whether you’re preparing for exams, writing essays, or simply wanting to explore the subject in more depth, I’m here to guide you with patience, clarity, and enthusiasm!

I believe politics and international relations are best learnt when connected to real-world events. My goal is to make complex ideas clear, engaging, and relevant, while helping students develop the confidence to think critically and argue persuasively. My approach is interactive and tailored: I use discussion, case studies (especially from the Middle East), and essay guidance to strengthen both understanding and academic skills. Lessons typically last 60 minutes (or 90 minutes for more in-depth work), with a clear focus, interactive discussion, and practical takeaways. I’m a DPhil (PhD) candidate in International Relations at Oxford, specialising in international security, global health, and Middle East politics. I’ve taught and supervised undergraduates, published widely, and worked with leading research institutes and humanitarian organisations in the region. I tutor A-Level/IB students, undergraduates, postgraduates, and professionals seeking deeper knowledge of politics, IR, and the Middle East.
