About Brent
I began with drawing and illustration as a foundation to my creative practice which includes gallery exhibitions of sculptures, drawings, videos, as well as product and graphic design. My drawing lessons are well-structured, engaging, and tailored to each student’s goals, whether you’re exploring drawing as a hobby, building a professional portfolio, or preparing for admission to an art program. I am committed to providing a positive, respectful, and inspiring learning environment where students gain confidence, strengthen their skills, and develop a lasting appreciation for the visual arts.

Whether you are an illustrator, product designer, gallery artist, or just want to better communicate through a sketch, my lessons are designed to help you refine your skills of accurately rendering what you see. I teach traditional drawing from life, using pencil ink, charcoal, and pastel with an emphasis on observation, technique, and composition. Lessons will take place at a combination of studios for still lifes and on-site fieldwork at parks and museums, as well as personal project assignments. My approach is patient, encouraging and tailored to everyone’s goals and experience levels as I enjoy helping others discover the joy and utility of drawing. I invite you to build a portfolio in preparation for the next steps in your creative journey.
