About Jacek
I got my master's degree in Musical and Performing Arts at the Academy of Music in Krakow. I later got my master's degree in Performing and Percussive Arts at Northwestern University in Chicago, where I studied under Michael Burritt. After graduating, I began teaching percussion, drum set, and world music, and have been doing so for the past 25 years. Thanks to my tutoring, my students have achieved great success by gaining admission to top universities, where they have had the opportunity to study with renowned drummers such as Paul Wertico and Ernie Adams.

Each lesson will be highly personalized, based on the individual musical preferences of each student. The lessons will cover a wide range of skills — from technical fundamentals to methods of improvisation.
During our first session, we will work together to define the goals we want to achieve through our meetings. Based on that, we will tailor the length and frequency of the lessons, as well as the methods we will use. We will draw on books, established techniques, and other educational materials to support our learning — but not too rigidly, ensuring both effective progress and a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere.
Depending on your level of advancement, we may work on transcriptions, play along with recordings, and conduct quick form analyses of songs, standards, and other various pieces. The duration of each lesson will also be adjusted individually, depending on the student’s age, topics of interest, and areas we plan to explore during our sessions.
Lessons are open to all age groups and skill levels. No matter where you are on your musical journey, we’ll definitely find something meaningful to work on!
