About Thea
Hi, I’m Thea, a History and Spanish student at Durham University with a strong academic background and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
I have experience working with younger students through tutoring, peer education, and childcare, which has developed my ability to explain ideas clearly, be patient, and adapt to different learning styles. I understand how to support students who may be struggling, while also pushing more confident students to reach higher grades.
Having recently gone through GCSEs and A-Levels myself, I am very familiar with current exam expectations and know what examiners are looking for. I aim to create a positive and focused learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence.
I am reliable, approachable, and committed to helping each student make clear and consistent progress.

I take a structured but supportive approach to tutoring, adapting each lesson to the student’s level and goals.
For History and Classics, I focus on developing strong analytical skills—helping students build clear arguments, use evidence effectively, and master exam technique. For Spanish, I combine grammar, vocabulary, and speaking practice with exam-focused writing and translation work to build both confidence and accuracy.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, including a mix of content review, targeted practice, and exam-style questions with clear feedback.
I study History and Spanish at Durham University and have experience working with younger students through peer education, tutoring, and childcare, which has strengthened my communication and teaching skills.
My lessons are suitable for GCSE and A-Level students, as well as younger students building strong foundations.
