About Alex
I am a drum tutor with 16 years of experience and master's of Music Education. I began teaching during my college years and quickly found passion in helping students learn. My lessons are structured, clear, and encouraging. I focus on building strong foundations in rhythm and technique. Students learn stick control, timing, and proper posture. I enjoy working with beginners, young learners, and hobbyists. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s learning style. I incorporate songs, exercises, and rhythm games to keep lessons engaging. Students receive weekly practice routines designed for consistent growth. I encourage open communication and questions during lessons. My teaching environment is safe, supportive, and patient. I help students set goals and celebrate their progress.

My drum lessons are designed to help students develop technical skills, musicality, and confidence while performing solo or in ensembles. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s level, whether learning basic rhythms, refining advanced technique, or preparing for live performances, auditions, or studio sessions. Lessons cover timing, hand independence, stick control, coordination, groove, dynamics, rhythm reading, and expressive phrasing. I incorporate song practice, play-alongs, improvisation, and collaborative exercises to provide a practical, performance-ready learning experience. Students receive guidance on structured practice routines, milestone tracking, and goal-setting to ensure steady progress.
My teaching environment is supportive, positive, and motivating, encouraging learners to experiment and develop their own style. Lessons emphasise listening skills, musical awareness, and ensemble communication to help students play confidently with others. Students gradually develop technical mastery, coordination, rhythmic independence, and expressive ability. Milestones are celebrated to maintain motivation and reinforce achievement. Each session balances structured learning with opportunities for creativity and expression. Drumming becomes both a technical skill and a tool for self-expression, collaboration, and artistic communication. Students gain problem-solving skills, adaptability, and focus alongside musical growth.
