About Katia
As a teacher of French for over 30 years, I am humbled to have had much success with my students' linguistic progress in French.
Not only has my focus been on combining form, meaning, and use in teaching French, but as well a focus on phonology/pronunciation.
I have had the privilege of working with students in The Middle East and New York City, where I have taught learners of French from all walks of life.
A student's success and motivation comes from within, and from the support of a gentle, patient, and experienced teacher.

Bonjour!
My name is Katia and I am a French teacher with many years of experience. My native languages are French and Arabic, and I speak English fluently.
I teach all ages, and pride myself on my gentle, supportive, and encouraging teaching demeanor. The goals of my students come first, after which I help guide my students to success.
A typical lesson plan includes introduction to a grammar point, vocabulary, warm-up practice with speaking and writing, a video related to the grammar point, and speaking practice.
My teaching methodology is heavily based on the Communicative Language Approach, where I scaffold grammar and vocabulary points, and then provide my students with many opportunities to practice French in our lessons.
My lessons are only in French, though with absolute beginner students, I provide an 80% French and 20% English approach, to create a more conducive learning environment for my students and quicker progress.
