• 1) Do you speak this language fluently because of your origins or because a teacher inspired you to learn?

  I speak Spanish fluently as a native speaker, and I also studied it academically in school. This allows me to teach both naturally and structurally—so my students don’t just learn Spanish, they understand how to use it confidently in real-life situations from day one.

• 2) Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?

  Mafalda is a well-known character across Latin America, especially in Argentina. She represents curiosity and cultural awareness. Another great example is El Chavo del Ocho, a classic TV show loved across generations and translated into many languages. I often bring in cultural references like these to make lessons more engaging and memorable.

• 3) Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behaviour in the language that you particularly like?

  One of my favorite words in Spanish—especially in Peruvian usage—is “YA.” It’s a simple word, but depending on tone and context, it can express agreement, urgency, understanding, or even impatience. In my lessons, I teach these real-life nuances so students can sound natural, not robotic.

  Speaking Spanish matters to me because it connects people to a rich and diverse culture. I love helping students not only communicate effectively, but also feel confident navigating real conversations, travel, and professional environments in Spanish.

• 5) What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?

  One of the main challenges is mastering verb conjugations across different tenses, especially for English speakers. That’s why I use simple, structured methods and repetition techniques that make learning easier and faster. I also provide practical exercises and personalized guidance so students see real progress every week.

  When I was learning, I loved discovering new words and creating my own sentences with them. That habit helped me build confidence quickly. Today, I use a more modern and interactive version of this method with my students to accelerate their vocabulary and speaking skills.
